Pakistan’s First Electric Bus Service Starts in Karachi
Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon announced that the first route of Pakistan’s first electric bus service is operational in Karachi from today.
The electric buses’ first route is from Clifton Clock to Seaview beach. He said that the first batch of 50 eco-friendly e-buses has started operations and that the fleet will grow slowly.
Memon announced this news on Twitter saying that the people of Karachi will avail of Pakistan’s first electric bus service from today.

The government has installed a solar system to provide enough electricity for charging the buses. Each bus has a driving range of 240 kilometers on a single charge.
According to Memon, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) led Sindh government is always concerned about development and prosperity.

Last year, the Sindh government also planned to launch an electric taxi service to introduce a system of less expensive taxi services. Memon said that this project will be launched for the public soon. However, the launching date is not revealed yet.
