Al-Ula is the famous historical monument of Saudi Arabia that lies about four hours northwest of Madinah. It is a well-known tourist destination in Saudi Arabia which has a wide range of civilizations and is considered an important archaeological landmark. This city is also called an oasis in the desert valley of Madinah. 

Famous Tourists Attractions to visit in Al-Ula:

Al Ula Heritage Village

People come to this historic village to witness its charm which is preserved in the form of mud-brick and stone houses. According to Archaeologists, 800 homes present there are at least 2,000 years old. Tourists should also visit Al Ula Museum to learn more about the history of the region and Islamic culture.

Madain Saleh

Madain Saleh is just a 30-minute drive away and one of the main tourist sites of Al Ula. It has the well-preserved remains of the Nabataean kingdom. Tourists can see a series of 131 tombs that are similar to the famous structures of Petra.

Hejaz Railway Museum 

It is located just outside the Madain Saleh which highlights a portion of the Ottoman railway network that used to run through Hejaz. It has the remains of Al Ula Station including original trains and tracks.

Elephant Mountain

Elephant Mountain (also called Elephant Rock) is one of the famous tourist attractions in Al-Ula city. It mostly attracts mountain climbers and those who love desert sports. This rock takes the shape of an elephant, and its height is about 52 meters above the ground.

Jabal Athleb

Jabal Athleb is close to Madain Saleh and is also a popular tourist destination in Al-Ula city. This place is famous for its wonderful temples and inscriptions. It has a very large hall called Diwan Jabal Athleb that is carved into the rocks.
