Govt Imposes Fixed FED on First Class and Business Class Air Tickets

The government has announced the new fixed rates of Federal Excise Duty (FED) on First Class and Business Class International flights.

The government has introduced some amendments to the Finance Supplementary Bill 2023. According to this bill, FED ranging from Rs 250,000 to Rs 75,000 of different tiers as per the International Air Transport Association (IATA) will be imposed on first, business, and club classes.

The FED would be applicable on these classes' air tickets issued on or after the announcement of amendments in the Finance Supplementary Bill 2023.

The National Assembly passed this Bill, imposing taxes and duties of Rs 170 billion to meet the conditions set by the IMF.

FED for Different Countries:

Canada, North, and South America: PKR 250,000

Europe: PKR 150,000

Middle East/Africa: PKR 75,000

Australia/New Zealand/Far East/ Pacific Islands: PKR 150,000
