Transport Fares increase due to hike in Petrol Prices
Because of a massive hike in petrol and diesel prices, the local transporters announced a 10 percent increase in transport fares.
The spokesperson of the All-Pakistan Public Transport Owners Federation (APPTOF) stated that a notable increase in diesel prices would destroy the transport system of Pakistan.
The fare from Lahore to Rawalpindi, Multan, and Faisalabad has been increased by Rs 100; Lahore to Sadiqabad and Peshawar by Rs 200; Lahore to Gujranwala by Rs 50, and Lahore to Karachi by Rs 600.

The sudden hike in transport fares is due to an increase in Fuel prices. On Sunday, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar announced that the federal government has raised the petrol and diesel prices by Rs35 per liter. Kerosene oil and light diesel oil prices have been increased by Rs18 per liter.
Ishaq Dar said in a television address that the prices of petrol products have increased by 11 percent in the international market.
